Academic Support Staff
Mrs. Susan Kious, Lower School
Mrs. Kious received her bachelor’s from Tulsa University and her master’s in Education from National-Louis University. She is a certified reading specialist and dyslexia consultant, and evaluates and serves students experiencing difficulty in reading, writing and math.
Mrs. Tracy Lutz, Middle School
Mrs. Lutz has a degree in history from Duke University with a master’s in Education from Oglethorpe University. She has extensive experience with academic support programs and classroom instruction. She is also the interim Middle School principal.
Mrs. Regina Franklin, Upper School
Mrs. Franklin has a bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education from Gordon College. She began her teaching career in a unique hospital setting, where she worked with students, most of whom had learning difficulties, on an individualized basis. She has taught English at Westminster for several years, and she currently serves as the English department chair.
Mrs. Mary Weidman, SSD Coordinator
Mrs. Weidman assists in standardized testing for those students having official accommodations from College Board or other testing organization. Students and parents with questions about qualifying for standardized testing accommodations should contact Mrs. Weidman.
Mrs. Traci Boutwell, Arrowsmith Teacher
Mrs. Boutwell received her Master in Teaching from Augusta State University. She had been working as an Academic Support coach for the past few years at Westminster and has transitioned into the role of Arrowsmith teacher as Westminster pilots this program.
