All Upper School library collections and
research sources are housed in the Academic Resource Center (ARC). The
primary focus of the Academic Resource Center (ARC) is to support
Westminster students in 6th-12th grades in their
academic endeavors. The center also is intended to provide curriculum
support to departments and individual members of the faculty.
The ARC has been designed to offer one centralized facility for
student study and research, either alone or in small groups or classes.
Students also can receive tutoring or other types of academic support in the ARC’s facilities. The ARC director offers assistance to students with
day-to-day questions regarding their assignments or help learning research
skills. The ARC director also acts as a resource teacher, helping students
develop skills related to study habits, time management, organization,
test-taking strategies, etc. Most students depend on the ARC to provide a
quiet, inviting study space where they can read, conduct research, provide
and receive tutoring, write papers, and have access to individual assistance
from the director as needed.
Any questions regarding library or research facilities at
Westminster’s Upper School should be directed to the ARC director, Mary
Weidman. Mrs. Weidman can be reached at
mfweidman@wsa.net or 706-731-7780, ext. 2324.
