From Mark TebbsCongratulations to the girls varsity tennis team for winning the GISA AAA State Team Championship last week! This is the first Westminster girls varsity tennis state championship. Special congratulations to Kylie Duckworth, GISA AAA State Girls Singles champion!

The following varsity track athletes placed at the GISA Region 4-AAA Meet and qualified to compete in the state track meet April 28-30:

  • Evan Downs – Region Champion in the 3200m and 1600 m
  • Tyra Kimbler – Region Champion in the 400m and 2nd in the 200m and 100m
  • Nygl Eaddy – 3rd in the 100m
  • Noah Dyer – 4th in the 110m Hurdles
  • Emily Rogers – 3rd in the 3200m and 4th in the 1600m
  • Janna Barinowski – 3rd in the 300m Hurdles

Both the boys and girls varsity soccer teams won in the first round of the state tournament to advance to the state quarterfinals!

MS Track ChampionsThe girls Middle School track team won the 2016 CSRA City championship. Congratulations to the team and head coach Cory Hickson!

WSA-surf & turfThe Booster Club’s Second Annual Lobsterfest will be Friday, Apr. 29. Seating will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The menu includes succulent Maine lobster tail, tender filet mignon, hot baked potato, Green Jacket salad, roll and a brownie. Dinner will be served on the Westminster grounds. Click here to make a reservation online or to print out a hard copy order form. Order forms may also be picked up at any school office. Order deadline is April 27. You won’t want to miss this fun community event!

Event T-shirts are on sale f0r $20 while supplies last. T-shirts feature the event logo on a white long-sleeved T-shirt. Get yours today by emailing Andrea Newton.

GISA State Track Meet – through April 30

All 2015-16 JV and varsity athletes and their families are invited to the banquet at Warren Baptist Church (Simmons Hall) on Tuesday, May 3, where all Westminster athletes will be honored and Westminster athletics will be celebrated! The dinner will be catered. All athletes, coaches and their spouses will eat for free. Information will be forthcoming regarding purchasing meal tickets for additional family members.

Middle School spring sports athletes will be recognized during an assembly on Wednesday, May 4 at 8:30 a.m. in the Middle/Upper School Gym.
