Athletics Update

September 4, 2015

NEWS
The fall athletic season is underway! Plan now to enjoy lots of Wildcat athletics – Middle School and varsity football and cheerleading, Middle School and varsity cross-country, Middle School golf and Middle School tennis.

  • Printable schedules may be found on specific team pages and visit the calendar for the most current dates and times for games and matches.
  • Visit the Directions to Opponents page, a valuable tool to use as you travel to away contests. We look forward to having big crowds to support our Wildcats when they are on the road.
  • Remember that our Booster Club will again be grilling for all home varsity football games. You won’t want to miss out on the “world famous” hamburgers and cheeseburgers, served hot off the grill!

WILDCAT WAY
We have many athletic opportunities, and we encourage all students to participate. This past season, we challenged every student-athlete to live “The Wildcat Way.” The Wildcat Way is a touchstone statement that we hope will describe our athletes as well as challenge them to be the very best they can be on and off the field or court. It states, “We honor Christ first. We expect the best from our teammates because we demand the best from ourselves. We reject complacency and outwork our opponents as we strive for success. We compete with uncompromising character and integrity at all times. We demonstrate an unwavering pursuit of excellence. We live the Wildcat Way.”

PHYSICALS
Athletic physical forms are available online. Please remember that all student-athletes must have one on file in the athletic office BEFORE they are allowed to practice. Physicals are available through an Urgent Care MD location or GRU Sports Medicine if you are unable to get one through your primary care physician.

ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY
We are now selling gym ad banner space! Gym banner advertisements are 3 ½’ x 2’ banners that will be hung on the Middle/Upper School gym wall opposite the entrance doors. The initial cost of the ad is $350. Your ad may be renewed annually for $300. We already have multiple corporate partners and would love for you to be a part of our team by helping advertise your business while your support continues to enhance the athletic experience of our student-athletes and helps keep the Westminster athletics program at the forefront of the GISA.
