Westminster "This Week in
Athletics"
Welcome to this week in
Westminster athletics. It is our goal to impact our students and
community for God's kingdom through the pursuit of excellence in the
athletic arena.
We are excited about all
that is going on at our school and in our athletic program. Be sure to
pass the good news to your friends and families about the exciting
opportunities at our school athletically, academically and in the fine
arts. Below is a schedule of events that highlights the next two weeks
and the opportunities that you have to be part of our community. Feel
free to contact me with any questions concerning our athletic program at
706-731-7780 ext. 2320 or at mfreace@wsa.net.
We appreciate your support
of Wildcat Athletics and look forward to seeing you at the field, court,
pool or course soon.

SUMMER HIGHLIGHTS:
Field Expansion... I
wanted to keep you all up to date with all that is happening with the
field extension project. If you have been on campus, you will have
noticed that there are no longer any trees between the parking lot and
the soccer field... it certainly adds a new look to that part of our
campus.
Whitaker Electric and Georgia Power finished moving the
electrical units at that end of the field. We have gotten
through everything so far without any major glitches. We
continue to pray that they entire project will go smoothly.
Currently, Abacare is installing drainage, excavating and
landscaping the area and then will install the sod for the final
product.
Eric Newbrey has been doing an outstanding job
working with all of these contractors during this process in addition to
his normal duties. I am so thankful for him and the expertise that he
brings to working through a project like this. Make sure that you
express your appreciation to his oversight of this rather large
endeavor. I know he has quite a few tasks on his plate for this summer
in preparing the school for the 2010-11 school year.

For more photos of the ongoing expansion project, visit our album
on
Facebook.
Playoffs .
. . The varsity girls soccer team won their state quarterfinal game
against Pinecrest Academy 6-1. They now head to the GISA State Semifinal
on Thursday where they will take on FPD at 5 p.m. in a rematch of last
year’s championship game. All final four games will be hosted by Mount
de Sales Academy in Macon.
Middle School Sports -
Season Change .
. . effective for the 2010-11 school year, middle school Golf and Tennis

Athletic Directors in the league. For more information, feel free to
contact Coach Freace.

watch our Wildcats take the field this fall as varsity football debuts
at Westminster! We are looking to provide a full menu for tailgating,
including hot dogs and hamburgers cooked on the grill onsite. In order
to make this a reality, we will need many volunteers. If you would be
willing to help with the grilling, please email Rhonda Barinowski (rhondabarinowski@bellsouth.net),
Sandra Hearon (sanhearon@gmail.com),
or Carolyn Holgate (CHolgate@duramedmedical.com)
