Praying for Our School

Prayer is a means of grace that God has blessed us with where we may come into His presence and commune with Him. Psalm 145:18 says, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, who call on him in truth.” Hebrews 4:16 encourages us with these words: “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

In Ephesians 6:18, believers are instructed with these words: “…and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” As we pray, we draw closer to our heavenly Father and know Him more intimately. As we pray, we see God at work and as He answers prayers, our faith develops and matures.

The verses from this year’s school theme, “Get Real,” include the admonition to “be faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12). Believers are reminded in 1 John 5:14: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us.”
