Wildcat Boys Soccer GISA State Play-offs Coverage
The Boys Varsity Soccer Team defeated Tattnall Square Academy 5-1 in the GISA State Quarterfinal on May 1. To read the article in The Augusta Chronicle about the match-up, click here. Wildcat Tennis GISA State Championship Article
Congratulations to Wes Maddox for earning runner-up in the Boys Singles division at the GISA State Individual Tennis Tournament and to the Boys Varsity Tennis Team for their 2nd place finish at the State Team Tournament on Apr. 25, as reported in The Augusta Chronicle.

Student Pianist Selected to Compete
The Augusta Chronicle reported that twenty-one young pianists from the Augusta area, including Westminster sophomore Amy Chen, will soon compete against their peers from around the state in the annual Georgia Music Teachers Association Pre-College Piano Competition.

Tebbs Named to All-Area Basketball Team
On April 3, senior Matthew Tebbs was included among the local Independent High School Basketball players on The Augusta Chronicle‘s all-area boys team. Junior A.J. Lewis and sophomore Austen Stokes were also recognized with an honorable mention.
Troubagh and Coach Wilson Receive Top Basketball Honors
On April 3, junior Samantha Trobaugh was profiled in an article on the front page of the Sports section because she was named The Augusta Chronicle’s Independent girls basketball player of the year. To read the article, click here.

Smith & Edmonson Sign Letters of Intent
Westminster forward Cara Smith made her college choice official this February when she signed to play soccer in Athens. She turned down offers from Auburn, South Carolina and Virginia. Another senior, soccer player–defender Kerrie Edmondson–signed to play at Wofford.

McGahee in Local Paper
Kelly McGahee, one of five Westminster students on the Watson-Brown Junior Board was interviewed in an article in the Jan. 26 edition of the Richmond County Neighbors section in The Augusta Chronicle.

Shine Ranks Nationally in Tennis
Former Westminster graduate and current University of Louisville sophomore Rebecca Shine is ranked No. 103 as the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings of the 2012 spring season were released on Jan. 3. It is the highest national ranking for a U of L women’s singles player.

2011 All-Area Football Honors
Two Westminster students made The Augusta Chronicle Independent Schools All-Area Football Team: Joe Coleman for the Kicker position and Patrick Moseley for Wide Receiver.
Honorable mentions were also awarded to five Westminster football players: A.J. Lewis for Running Back, Tim Nabholz for Quarterback, Will Newton for Linebacker and Offensive Line, Taylor Robertson for Wide Receiver and Jose Rosaldo for Line Backer.
Messiah Performance Rave Review
Our third through fifth grade’s performance of “Christmas Messiah for Young Voices” was incredible. One fourth grader’s grandmother loved the program so much, she wrote a letter to the Editor of The Augusta Chronicle.
One-Act Champions in Newspaper
The announcement that our One-Act cast for “See How They Run” won first at State ran in the Richmond County Neighbors section of The Augusta Chronicle on Dec. 15.
