New Middle School Principal Announced

Tracy Lutz has been named Middle School Principal of Westminster Schools of Augusta.

Mrs. Lutz grew up in Atlanta where she graduated from Westminster Schools. She received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University in History and Psychology and master’s degree in education from Oglethorpe University.

Although she began her teaching career at Westminster Schools of Augusta, she and her husband, Ryan, moved to Niger, West Africa to teach at a missionary school in 1998. Following this adventure, she taught in Atlanta, Georgia, and Memphis, Tennessee.

Tracy returned to Westminster in 2011, serving in the Middle School as a history teacher, cross-country coach and academic support coordinator before transitioning to the interim Middle School principal in 2016. Tracy and Ryan have three children: Jonathan, Reagan and Connor.

While at Westminster, Mrs. Lutz has managed a strong academic support program, developed an eighth grade leadership program, and led the implementation of the 1:World technology initiative.

“Mrs. Lutz is a strong student-centered servant leader who believes in the potential of every student,” said Head of School Brian Case. “I am excited to see the Middle School flourish in the future under her direction.”
