Students Raise Awareness for Hunger & for Heart

Upper School students participated in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, spending the night of March 4 on campus, with leaders using devotionals and games to focus the students’ time on prayer and consideration of the millions of people around the world suffering from the effects of hunger. Prefect Natalie Walters said, “We raised around $600 and with that money we brought in children’s books to donate to Africa.” Are you friends with Willie Wildcat on Facebook? After a night of focus on the plight of world hunger, nearly twenty upper school students participated in the CSRA Heart Walk, benefitting the American Heart Association.
On Saturday, March 5, after a week-long House competition that reaped over $350 for the American Heart Association, a number of students participated in the CSRA Heart Walk. Matthew Schafer, the youngest sibling of the Schafer students in the Upper School, is the 2010 Heart Hero for the Walk.
